Happy New Year
Hi Everyone :-)
Happy New Year - well I finally got around to loading all the photo's from my camera onto my computer yesterday - only took 5 hours! as I had to compress some of them to go on this blog .....The first pic that I took when I went to the UK last August - was of the "Button Queen" shop - It sold a few new and lots of antique buttons there - quite expensive but interesting to see anyway - if only those buttons could talk! - The top picture is of the Antique Maltese Lace hankie and bone bobbin I bought at Portabello markets - My Grandfathers name was James ... and as there were only 3 choices of names - I felt rather pleased to find a family name on one! the other pic I took somewhere in London haha! just loved the sign as it had 2 of my favourite things - Vodka and food! on it haha!

That is a fabulous piece of lace. I'm not much for vodka, but food always sounds good! I'm sure I could spend hours at the Button Queen with my mom. Can a girl ever have too many buttons? Happy New Year!
Vodka and food, can't beat it :-)
Happy 2010!!
I'd love to visit the Button Queen! Happy New Year.
What an exquisite lace hankie - I can't imagine being able to do work like that. My grandfather's name was James too. I'm with you on the food, but you can have the vodka. What is it about buttons that is so fascinating, satisfying and tempting?
My gosh that antique maltese lace hanky is absolutely jawdroppingly gorgeous! What an exquisite piece! WOW! I don't want to stop looking at it!
It sounds like you had a lovely time!
Happy 2010!

Happy New Year.
Snap with Grandfathers name of James . Button Queen sounds good
Dear Stitchety Grub,
What a lovely hanky! I love it. I wish I could have a nose around the Button Queen with you. I am interested in costuming and vintage fashion.
Currently my multi-part square lace pillow has plated triangular lace on it. I have 1 metre to make before my Tudor chemise is ready to be made up.
Cheers,
Rosie.
